AOTDLE is the daily Attack on Titan character guessing game this site is named after. Every day a single character from Shingeki no Kyojin is chosen as the hidden answer — anyone from a Survey Corps veteran to a Marleyan Warrior to a background cadet — and your job is to work out who it is in as few guesses as possible.

What makes it click for fans is that the clues are drawn from the story itself rather than from letters. Regiment, Titan power, status, age and origin all get compared at once, so a single guess can tell you that the answer is a Warrior, that they are older than you assumed, and that they never held a Titan. Readers who know the Marley arc as well as the Wall arc tend to close it out in three or four guesses; everyone else learns the cast fast.

Type any Attack on Titan character and submit them. The game lines your guess up against the hidden answer across several attributes at once and gives you a row of colour-coded feedback — a board built from character traits rather than from spelling.

Green means that attribute matches the answer exactly. Yellow means you are partly right: the same broad group but not the same value, such as guessing a different regiment within the military or a related Titan lineage. Grey means no relationship at all. Arrows appear on the numeric attributes to tell you whether the real answer is higher or lower than what you guessed.

From there it is deduction. Every row narrows the cast, and because each guess is compared on all attributes simultaneously, even a completely wrong character is useful — it eliminates a whole branch of the roster. A new character is picked every day at midnight UTC, and your streak survives as long as you keep solving it.

Open with someone whose traits are unusual rather than someone famous. A first guess that sits in the middle of the cast — a Survey Corps soldier with no Titan — confirms very little. A Warrior from Marley, or a character with a Titan power and a Marleyan origin, splits the roster far more sharply.

Treat yellow as your best clue, not as a near miss. Yellow tells you the category is right and the value is wrong, which usually collapses the possibilities to a handful. If origin comes back yellow, stop guessing Paradis characters and start testing the other side of the sea.

Use the numeric arrows deliberately. Once age or a similar attribute has an arrow on it, pick your next guess specifically to bracket that number rather than to confirm what you already know — you learn more from a guess that could be wrong in an informative way.
