Clan Quiz

Regiment Quiz is the timed recall game: you are given a group from Attack on Titan — a regiment, a family, a Titan lineage — and you have to name every character in it before the clock runs out. There is no multiple choice and no list to pick from, only an empty box and what you actually remember.

It is the hardest kind of trivia because recognition does not help. Most fans can identify every Survey Corps member on sight and still blank on four of them under time pressure. The satisfying part is that the names come back in clusters: remember one squad member and two more usually follow.

The prompt names the group you are filling in and tells you how many characters belong to it. Type a name and submit it; correct answers lock into place on the board and wrong ones simply do not register, so there is no penalty for guessing.

The clock runs the whole time. You can type names in any order, and partial spellings of well-known characters are accepted, so you should never lose an answer because of an accent or a surname.

The round ends when the timer expires or when you have named everyone. The unnamed characters are revealed at the end, which is usually the most educational part of the game.

Empty your head of the obvious names first. The four or five characters you are certain about cost you nothing to type and buy you the rest of the clock to think about the edges of the group.

Then walk the story rather than the list. Moving arc by arc — the training corps, the first expedition, the Marley arc — surfaces names that a flat mental list never reaches.

When you stall, say the group out loud in terms of relationships: who reported to whom, who was in whose squad. Structure retrieves names that recall alone will not.
